- Students did research about what other schools have done.
This video called "Studying the Atmosphere with Emily Dawson" was very inspiring and helpful. After we watched this video, we knew that we could also do a project like this one." Thank you Emily.

- After the initial research, students began to establish goals. The goals can be seen here.
- Students were assigned to teams to work towards our goals. A brief description of each teams responsibilities, along with comments from the team members can be found here.
- Students decided on what materials to order. They had a budget of $1000.00. A list of the materials that were used can be found here.
- Mr. Brode visited the National Weather Service in Sterling, VA to view a weather balloon launch.
- Mr. Brode filed a notice to airmen. (NOTAM)
- Mr. Brode contacted the FAA prior to the launch.
- Students launched the balloon. A video of the launch can be viewed here.
- Students analyzed the data. Some of the analysis can be seen here.
- Students wrote a summary of their experiences in the project.
